APPLICATION > CONSIDERATIONS

  1. Most pull in a trailer with household items sufficient to get them through the year. Remember, unless you will be living in Mexico permanently, you will not need to bring the "world" with you. Aguascalientes is a large city with a high standard of living and anything you "really" need can be purchased here. If you pull in a trailer, you must take it to the border each time you go. For your own peace of mind while traveling here, a closed trailer is better than an open one.
  2. If your wife is pregnant and her delivery will interrupt her study, we suggest you wait and come after the baby arrives.
  3. Both husband and wife are expected to study.
  4. Deputation should be complete and couples should plan on leaving for their field within three months after completing language school. It is not practical to tarry as it definitely affects efficiency in the language. You need to get into pure Spanish as soon as possible since you will be wasting your time and money as well as ours if you plan to study and then do extensive deputation afterward.
  5. New students should arrive on the field in plenty of time (on the date indicated) in order to have plenty of time to get housing and get settled before school starts. Do not ask to be an exception as permission will not be given for you to arrive later.
  6. New students are to submit applications to the Fundamental Baptist World-Wide Mission office. You are not officially accepted until you get a letter of acceptance from the Mission.
  7. There are new regulations and requirements for entering Mexico. Make sure you have communicated with the school administration on the field before you come so that you will be sure to have the correct requirements, etc. This is very important.
  8. You need to have passports for every member of your family (including children). This will facilitate getting your permanent visa if you will be staying in Mexico and if going to other countries, you will need to have them also.
  9. Take note of the date that new applications are due. They must be in by this date so to give ample time to write references, etc. If you do not get them in by these dates, you must wait to make application for the next semester.
  10. Missionaries serving with Fundamental Baptist World-Wide Mission must submit applications to enter the Institute. Please let us know of your plans as soon as possible. Applications must be submitted for children of missionaries also. Children of language students are required to attend the Academy.
